ABOUT COLOR MY SPACE

Kathleen Dutka’s love of color and design began with her training as a fine artist. She owned and operated Art Unlimited, an art gallery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for over eleven years.

Each time Kathleen would visit a client’s home to arrange their new art, she would end up talking about other aspects of the client’s space ranging from color and lighting, to accessory and furniture placement. This passion for design, color, and beauty and a desire to meet her client’s needs led her to change her career.

Kathleen went to New York City where she was trained and certified as an interior refiner, by the well-known interior designer and author of Use What You Have, Lauri Ward.

Thus, Color My Space™ was created offering a wide variety of services to better meet her client’s needs from floor to ceiling.

“I enjoy working with my clients to help them see that they have beautiful things—and the cost of those things has nothing to do with how we make them work together to create balance, comfort, color, and a space that feels like it belongs to them.”

Kathleen’s work has been featured in articles in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, and The Pittsburgh Almanac.

Kathleen Dutka is President and CEO of
Color My Space™. Kathleen served as president of the Interior Refiners Network from 2004 to 2006 and presently serves on the IRN Board of Directors. She also has served as adviser for the IRN’s annual conferences.
